Our Team

Douglas Baillie

Co-Founder

Douglas is a real estate investor and operator with fourteen years of experience across the real estate industry and capital markets. From 2010 to 2014, he was an investment advisory professional at Cambridge Associates in Boston, specializing in real estate private equity fund investing on behalf of major institutions, endowments and ultra-high net worth family offices.

In 2015, Doug completed his M.S. in Real Estate Development from Columbia University in New York. From 2015 to 2018, Doug was in the Capital Markets Group at JLL in New York, advising on over $8 billion of closed debt & equity transactions primarily in New York City. After JLL, Douglas joined the Naftali Group doing acquisitions and development, working on some of the most notable ground-up residential projects in New York including 470 Kent Avenue, 200 East 83rd Street and 1045 Madison Avenue. Douglas then joined Rivendell Global Real Estate with a focus on development and asset management of a national apartment portfolio of over 3,000 residential units.

Doug graduated from Trinity College prior to receiving his Real Estate Development M.S. from Columbia University.

Co-Founder

Pir Granoff

Pir’s background includes private equity investing at BBH Capital Partners, the $1.8 billion middle market private equity vehicle of Brown Brothers Harriman, and WME Ventures, the venture capital arm of William Morris Endeavor | IMG. Pir also served as Director of Growth and Finance for Drip until its 2016 acquisition by Kickstarter.

Currently, in addition to Aperture Holdings, Pir is a co-owner of Uniform Object, a fine jewelry brand sold in luxury retailers globally, and Snowe, a homewares e-commerce brand. Pir is also a Partner in and operator of a portfolio of hospitality interests including Dive Bar Pizza, ALVO, Williamsburg Pizza, Casino, Zimmi’s, and Short Stories (sold in 2023). His restaurants have been featured in The New York Times, Vogue, Bon Appetite, Guest of a Guest, A Hotel Life, and Eater. Pir is an early investor in a portfolio of consumer and software companies including Manifest OS, June Homes, DocSend, Nurture Life, Betty, Dieux, and Elephant Energy, among others.

Pir graduated from Amherst College, cum laude with a BA in Environmental Law and Economics, as well as Law, Jurisprudence, and Social Thought (LJST) and was a four-year Varsity lacrosse player.
